Hi, I'm Emma.
If you're trying to balance teaching and motherhood, welcome. I'm so pleased you've found your way here.
Teaching Mum Life was created because I know what it's like to love your job and your family, but still end most days feeling like there just aren't enough hours or enough of you to go around.
I've been teaching for 15 years and I'm a mum of two, so I understand the constant juggling act. For a while, I thought the only way to feel happier was to leave teaching altogether. But I realised it wasn't my job I wanted to escape—it was the feeling of always being overwhelmed.
Since then, I've been on a journey of finding small, realistic ways to make life feel more manageable. Not by trying to be the perfect teacher or the perfect mum, but by letting go of the idea that I had to be.
That's what you'll find here.
Practical ideas that fit into real life. Honest conversations about the highs and lows of teaching and motherhood. Resources to make your days a little easier. And, most importantly, a community of women who understand exactly what it's like to wear both hats.
I don't have all the answers, and I don't think any of us do. But I do believe that when we share what's working, support one another and remember that "good enough" really is good enough, this job and this season of life become so much more enjoyable.
You've found your people. Welcome to Teaching Mum Life.
